2018 Review of UK Parliament constituencies
On 5 September 2018 we submitted our Report for the 2018 Review of UK Parliament Constituencies to the Secretary of State for Scotland. The Report was laid before Parliament on 10 September 2018. Further information is available in our 2018 Review section.
The Boundary Commission for Scotland is responsible for reviews of constituencies in Scotland for the UK Parliament.
Full reviews of UK Parliament constituencies are carried out every 5 years.
Under the terms of s.8 of the Scotland Act 2016, responsibility for reviews of Scottish Parliament boundaries passed from the Boundary Commission for Scotland to the Local Government Boundary Commission for Scotland with effect from 18 May 2017. A link to the legislation is here.
The Local Government Boundary Commission for Scotland is a separate body which is responsible for reviewing local government boundaries in Scotland and Scottish Parliament boundaries. Details of its work can be found at http://www.lgbc-scotland.gov.uk.
