UK Parliament constituencies 1950 - 1955
These are the 71 UK Parliament constituencies in Scotland that were in use between 1950 and 1955. They came into being as a result of our Initial Report which was submitted in 1947. They were replaced by UK Parliament constituencies from 1955 to 1974 which resulted from our First Periodical Review of constituencies which reported to the Secretary of State for Scotland in 1954.
We conducted interim reviews which resulted in changes to some of these constituencies. A first pair of interim reviews took place in 1950 and 1951 with the resulting changes taking effect from 1951. A further interim review took place in 1952 with the resulting changes only taking effect from 1955, as part of the UK Parliament constituencies from 1955 to 1974.
