23 November 2009 - First Periodic Review of Scottish Parliament boundaries - The Commission expects to publish its Revised Recommendations for Scottish Parliament regions on 7 January for a period of one month of public consultation: they will be published on the Reviews in Progress page. The transcript of the Local Inquiry into the Commission's Provisional Proposals for regions has been added to the Regions Local Inquiry page. The Assistant Commissioner's report from the Local Inquiry will be placed on the website at the same time as the publication of the Revised Recommendations.

23 November 2009 - We have published a brief guidance document to local authorities on Display Points for use during our public consultations. It can be downloaded from the Publications section of this website.

19 November 2009 - We have added a section on Maps to the Frequently Asked Questions on this website.

20 October 2009 - Final Recommendations for constituencies - The Commission has considered the representations received during its consultation on its Further Recommendations for Aberdeen City; Argyll & Bute; and City of Edinburgh Council areas. The Commission has concluded not to recommend further changes in those areas, and expects that in its report on the review it will recommend the constituencies that were in its Further Recommendations for constituencies for Aberdeen City; Argyll & Bute; and City of Edinburgh Council areas, and for all other Council areas it expects that it will recommend the constituencies that were in its Revised Recommendations for constituencies. 5 October 2009 - First Periodic Review of Scottish Parliament boundaries - The consultation on the Commission's Further Recommendations for constituencies has closed. The Commission will consider all representations received.

15 September 2009 - Minutes from the Commission's meetings in June and July 2009 have been added to the Publications section of the website. These are the meetings leading up to the publication of the Further Recommendations for constituencies on 3 September 2009.

3 September 2009 - First Periodic Review of Scottish Parliament boundaries - Having considered the representations made on its Revised Recommendations for constituencies, the Commmission has published its Further Recommendations for constituencies, for a period of one month of public consultation. The Further Recommendations concern the Aberdeen City; Argyll and Bute; and City of Edinburgh Council areas. The Commission is not proposing any other changes to its Revised Recommendations for constituencies. See the Further Recommendations page of the Reviews in Progress section for more details.

3 September 2009 - First Periodic Review of Scottish Parliament boundaries - The Commission has announced the arrangements for a Local Inquiry into its Provisional Proposals for East Central Scotland; Highlands and Islands; Lothian; South Scotland; and West Central Scotland Scottish Parliament regions. See the Regions Local Inquiry page of the Reviews in Progress section for more details.

24 August 2009 - First Periodic Review of Scottish Parliament boundaries - Having considered the representations made on its Revised Recommendations for constituencies, the Commmission expects to publish its Further Recommendations for constituencies on 3 September 2009, for a period of one month of public consultation. The Commission will also publicise at the same time the arrangements for a Local Inquiry into certain of its Provisional Proposals for Scottish Parliament regions.

10 August 2009 - The Commmission's Annual Report for 2008-09 has been added to the Publications section of the website.

13 July 2009 - Minutes from the Commission's meetings up until April 2009 have been added to the Publications section of the website. This includes all of the meetings leading up to the publication of its Revised Recommendations for constituencies and Provisional Proposals for regions.

22 June 2009 - The consultation period on the Commission's Revised Recommendations for Scottish Parliament constituencies and Provisional Proposals for Scottish Parliament regions has closed. The Commission will consider all representations received.

21 May 2009 - First Periodic Review of Scottish Parliament boundaries - The Commission has published its Revised Recommendations for Scottish Parliament constituencies and Provisional Proposals for Scottish Parliament regions for public consultation. The consultation period lasts until 21 June 2009. Full details are available through the Reviews in Progress section of the website. The new recommendations and proposals are detailed on the corresponding page, and you can access maps by individual constituency, local authority or parliamentary region, as well as News Releases and Statutory Notices from there. The Commission arranged a series of Local Inquiries into its Provisional Proposals for constituencies, which were held in 2008: the reports from those Local Inquiries have now been added to the Constituency Local Inquiries page.

13 May 2009 - The Commission's Corporate Plan for 2009-12 is available from the Publications section of the website.

22 April 2009 - The Commission will publish its revised recommendations for constituencies and provisional proposals for regions for the Scottish Parliament on 21 May. They will be available from the Reviews in Progress section of the website. On publication, there will be a one month public consultation period during which representations will be welcomed.

22 April 2009 - The Commission has published its privacy policy for representations which explains how it makes available representations received during public consultations held as part of its reviews. The policy is available from the Publications section.

3 April 2009 - The Commission expects to publish its revised recommendations for constituencies and provisional proposals for regions for the Scottish Parliament at the end of April or the start of May. The revised recommendations for constituencies will take into account the reports from Local Inquiries that were held in late 2008. The provisional proposals for regions will be first opportunity for comment on these. On publication, there will be a one month public consultation period during which representations will be welcomed.

13 March 2009 - The Information papers have been expanded to set out the relationship between constituencies and local authority electoral wards. The updated Information papers are available in the Publications section.
